The overall experience was great, I highly recommend Venice Studio and in particular, MVRDV Studio, to anyone. Although the studio timeline is short, the exposure to new ideas and MVRDV processes is incredibly valuable. It is also a great opportunity for potentially getting a foot in the door with some of the best firms in the world while also developing close relationships with your teammates for possible future projects together.

Truly the opportunity of a lifetime. The ideas and design processes that were discussed throughout the two weeks in the ZHA Studio were so fantastic they will play a huge part in my growth as a young architect. I knew I would learn a lot and challenge my natural instincts. Together with my group mates we found our own identity within the studio framework and designed a project that I’m immensely proud of. I’ve grown so much in this little time, and that is attributed to the wonderful friends/mentors that I made during this incredible program.

Venice Studio is a fantastic starting point for developing a relationship with the architectural firm that you’re curious about. The two week program felt more like an internship at MVRDV rather than a typical academic studio experience.

Venice Studio was undoubtedly the best study experience I’ve ever had. I am truly honored to have worked with Traudy, Francesco, and Gianluca from MAP Studio. As architects they inspired me greatly. Venice was also beyond magical and I would absolutely love to go back!

Venice Studio gave me the opportunity to get insight into the design methods of one of my favorite architecture offices, Snøhetta. During the two week design program, an open learning environment was created where architects and students could meet up to exchange visions and ideas. The many inspiring lectures and  conversations with fellow students and architects from all over the world were framed by the beautiful scenery of historical Venice.

It was a really great experience to work with the team from Zaha Hadid Architects. Discussing design concepts within the studio and building up a project within two weeks was very instructive. Sharing project work, skill-sets, the field trip experiences or just general discussion with other highly motivated students from all over the world were some of the best things about the program. I can really recommend Venice Studio as an intense 2 week program in a beautiful city.

The program has been educational and inspiring in all senses and yields new insights even in retrospection. The warmth and passion of my instructors from Sauerbruch Hutton and peers from the program has made Venice feel oddly like another home.. I didn’t expect myself to enjoy the program so much!
